Position qualifications (essential qualifications including job experience, skills, and education):
Registered Nurse: Individual service providers must maintain an RN license (or LVN licensed vocational nurse under the supervision of an appropriate Clinical Supervisor registered nurse), registered to practice in the state or otherwise authorized to practice in Texas under the Nurse Licensure Compact.
Services that are within the scope of the Texas Nurse Practice Act and are provided by an RN (or licensed vocational nurse under the supervision of an appropriate Clinical Supervisor RN), licensed to practice in the state. HCBS-AMH Nursing cover ongoing chronic conditions such as wound care, medication administration (including training, monitoring, and evaluation of side effects), and supervising delegated tasks. Nursing services provide treatment and monitoring of health care procedures prescribed by a physician/medical practitioner, or as required by standards of professional practice or state law to be performed by licensed nursing personnel.

Position qualifications (essential qualifications including job experience, skills, and education):
Community Psychiatric Supports and Treatment (CPST) are goal-directed supports and solution-focused interventions intended to achieve identified goals or objectives as set forth in the person’s IRP. CPST is provided face-to-face with the person present; however, family or other persons significant to the person may also be involved. This service may include the following components:
Assist the person and family members or other collaterals to identify strategies or treatment options associated with the person’s mental illness and/or substance use disorder, with the goal of minimizing the negative effects of symptoms, emotional disturbances, or associated environmental stressors which interfere with the person’s daily living, financial management, housing, academic and/or employment progress, personal recovery or resilience, family and/or interpersonal relationships, and community integration;
Provide person supportive counseling, solution-focused interventions, emotional and behavioral management support, and behavioral analysis with the person, with the goal of assisting the person with developing and implementing social, interpersonal, self-care, daily living, and independent living skills to restore stability, support functional gains, and adapt to community living;
Facilitate participation in and utilization of strengths-based planning and treatments which include assisting the person and family members or other collaterals with identifying strengths and needs, resources, natural supports, and developing goals and objectives to utilize personal strengths, resources, and natural supports to address functional deficits associated with their mental illness and/or substance use disorder;
Assist the person with effectively responding to or avoiding identified precursors or triggers that would risk their remaining in a natural community location, including assisting the person and family members or other collaterals with identifying a potential psychiatric or personal crisis, developing a crisis management plan, and/or seeking other supports to restore stability and functioning, as appropriate.

Psychosocial Rehabilitation is an evidence-based or evidence-informed intervention which supports the individual’s recovery by helping the individual develop, refine and/or maintain the skills needed to function successfully in the community to the fullest extent possible.
Provision of HCBS-AMH psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR) services shall be intended to achieve the identified goals or objectives as set forth in the participant’s IRP. PSR services consist of rehabilitative skill building, personal development of environmental and recovery supports considered essential in improving the functioning of the participant, learning skills to promote the individual’s self- access to necessary services, and creating environments that promote recovery and support the emotional and functional improvement of the participant.

Supervised Living Services fosters recovery and independence by providing individuals with personal assistance with activities of daily living (grooming, eating, bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene) and functional living tasks; assistance with planning and preparing meals; transportation or assistance in securing transportation; assistance with ambulation and mobility; reinforcement of specialized rehabilitative, habilitative or psychosocial therapies; assistance with medications based upon the results of an RN assessment; the performance of tasks delegated by a RN in accordance with the Texas Board of Nursing rules as defined by Title 22 of the Texas Administrative Code, Part 11, Chapter 225; and supervision of the individual’s safety and security. Supervised living provides residential assistance as needed by individuals who live in residences in which the HCBS-AMH provider holds a property interest and that meet program certification standards. Residential services are provided to individuals in settings licensed or certified by the State of Texas. Residential services are necessary, as specified in the individual’s IRP, to enable the individual to remain integrated in the community and ensure the health, welfare, and safety of the individual in accordance with 42 CFR § 441.710.

Assists individuals living in the individual’s own or family residence which are not provider owned or operated. Residential services are necessary, as specified in the individual’s IRP, to enable the individual to remain integrated in the community and ensure the health, welfare, and safety of the individual in accordance with 42 CFR § 441.710.
